76 Main & 21 Broad in Nantucket, New England, MA, USA

by Tuesday, January 30, 2018
Tavis and Ryan are the General Managers of 21 Broad and 76 Main, both boutique, luxury, design-driven Lark Hotels in Nantucket, New England. The intimately sized 76 Main is the more sophisticated sister, with an outdoor courtyard with fire pits and evening cocktail mixer bar (BYOB); beach bags and chairs; and an on-site cafe offering coffee and fresh baked goods. She is located on fashionable Main Street, in a landmark neighbourhood in the heart of Nantucket, a block from the heart of town and a six-minute walk to the harbour. 21 Broad embraces a more urban style, blending the vibrant atmosphere of Nantucket’s most bustling historic neighbourhood with modern interior design. Guests are encouraged to spin tunes on the turntable; sip a cool beverage on the back deck around the fire pit; or take a vitamin C shower – the perfect remedy for a long day of wandering around Nantucket’s historic downtown, according to the hotel. Let’s turn to the experts, the managers of these historic yet fresh, fun yet stylish, hip yet local digs, for the low down on what to do and where to explore in Nantucket…

76 Main.

Most popular request…

Everyone wants our cookie recipe! 😉

Favourite locale when enjoying a day off…
On a day off, we like to ride our bikes to Sandbar to enjoy their Pina Colada and some wings!!
Best coffee…
Handlebar is our favourite local coffee spot.

Where we must go for lunch…

Tree Bar! We personally love the burgers, the rosé cider, and chatting to Shawn, their awesome bartender.

76 Main.

It’s a rainy day outside but we want to explore, what should we do…

A rainy day is a perfect time to stop by the Whaling Museum. We’d also brave the weather, put on some rain boots, and go gallery hopping. We’re big fans of the one on Centre Street, which is a pleasant surprise because it is much bigger than it appears from the outside!

21 Broad.

An absolute must-do or must-see before leaving…

A bike ride out to Madaket and a meal at Millie’s is a MUST. There are loads of places to stop along the way for a little photo opp, and it’s beautiful ride.

What they love about their hotel…

It’s so nice having two hotels that are each so esthetically different. At 76 Main, we love the hotel’s design and how each room has it’s own charm, plus it’s just far enough from the downtown square that it’s nice and quiet at night, even in the summer. At 21 Broad, we absolutely love the patio, the front porch and our downstairs steam room.

21 Broad.

Anything else we should know about when visiting…
Be sure to book restaurants ahead of time during the peak seasons (Memorial day through Labor day)! They tend to fill up quite fast.
