So, you’d like to know how last Wednesday night’s inaugural Journeys To Come Dinner Party hosted by our friends at Clarins went? How can we explain this? Let’s see…
Take Kirsty Manning’s “The Jade Lily” – a sweeping story of friendship, loyalty and love – as the conversation starter…
Add Belotta – a chic bistro with a European vibe, and their gorgeous seasonal menu with matched wines – as the backdrop…
Invite a beautiful bunch of like-minded travellers…
And apply two drops of Clarins Double Serum (acting on the appearance of all signs of skin-aging!) for good measure and…
Voilà!
The superlatives about the evening could run wild and free here so, suffice to say, just look at these happy faces in the photos, folks.
If you missed this JTC Dinner Party, take heart: We’re plotting another soirée and you’ll be the first to know.
Enjoy!

We always start a JTC dinner with a traditional war cry: “Two, Four, Six, Eight, Bog In, Don’t Wait!”. No, not really. Just a little flexing to warm up – all part of the fun.

We were delighted our wonderful friends from Clarins could come to dinner. These lovely people popped down from their Sydney HQ for the night to join in the fun – and give away THE best goodie bags I ever did see!

Conversation – and a barrage of amazing questions – flowed and we learned something about the oysters from British Columbia – they’re exceptionally good – and I’m going to try them for myself, very shortly…

Good vibes, great food, gorgeous wines – the bountiful ingredients of a magical evening.

Our gorgeous, best-selling author in da house, Kirsty Manning, signs copies of her latest novel, “The Jade Lily”.

Cosying up to our (exquisitely groomed) friends from Clarins who flew down – from my old home town – for the night. Thank you!

Kirsty shared her wonderful story of seeing the Star of David on a gate in the Shanghai French Concession – the beginning of her own writing journey which culminated in her recently-released novel, “The Jade Lily”.

The JTC team – Danielle Johnston (editor) and Jack Walden (community manager) – got in on the fun as well. Go team!

Thank you Diane Squires and Adrian Duncan from Two’s a Crowd Travel and www.allabroad.com.au. Adrian took these fabulous pics for us – you should go and see his amaaaazing photos on their blog. Just incredible!

Friends of JTC asked questions and shared their own travel tales. Great company!

Kirsty brought her gorgeous parents who were down from Tamworth, and her very handsome husband, who knows oh so much about wine and runs their businesses, Belotta in South Melbourne, and the Prince Wine Store in both Melbourne and Sydney.

The charming ladies from Myer popped along and had a hoot as well.

Helen Steel, fresh off the plane from New York, enjoyed the evening.

The Goody Bag to end all goody bags from Clarins: Double Serum, Eau Dynamisante, Natural Lip Perfector, Hand & Nail Treatment Cream, Beauty Flash Balm and Tonic Body Treatment Oil. Divine!

More wonderful guests – please come again I say!

Whether they’d just stepped off a cruise around the Galapagos, or they were sharing their tips re. oysters – this crowd of people gave till it hurt! Thanks for coming.

Three cheers for our friends from Travel Card for coming along. Hip Hip!

And that’s a wrap! Read the books – they’re wonderful. Enjoy the Clarins magic-in-a-bottle (I swear by it). And go forth and book that trip! Thanks for helping me reminisce about a great night. x
