Sri Panwa, Phuket, Thailand

by Tuesday, December 12, 2017

Po Yan “Suki” Yu is Manager of the luxury Phuket resort Sri Panwa, an island paradise situated on the south-eastern tip of Phuket and perched atop Cape Panwa, occupying the peninsula in its entirety. The resort is renowned for its breath-taking panoramic ocean views and unobtrusive service. Suki met Sri panwa’s Managing Director, Vorasit “Wan” Issara, while studying at the prestigious Cesar Ritz Colleges in Switzerland, but later grew closer with Wan as she also completed her required work experience at the iconic Grand Hotel a Villa Feltrinelli in Lake Guarda, Italy. Suki had previously lived and studied English in New Zealand for six months to give her an advanced basis from which to begin her career in tourism and hospitality. After seeing first-hand Suki’s dedication to service and hard work, Wan invited Suki to come back to Thailand and join the opening team of Sri Panwa. Suki has been a part of the team at Sri Panwa since its opening in 2005 so she is perfectly placed to share with us her insider’s knowledge about the resort…

Most popular request…
The best villa with the best view of course!

Favourite locale when enjoying a day off…
This would have to be Nai Harn Beach.

Best coffee…
Baba Poolclub – one of our dining locations at the resort.

Where we must go for lunch…

Sri Panwa’s restaurant concept Baba is spread out across six dining locations at the resort. Baba Soul Food is the perfect lunch spot if you’re looking for authentic southern Thai food.

It’s a rainy day outside but we want to explore, what we should do…
It’s the perfect opportunity for guests to enjoy a spa treatment at our very own Spa and Wellness zone – Cool Spa. The full spa menu includes both traditional and signature treatments such as Blood Type Therapy and Edible Scrubs that can be enjoyed either in private treatment rooms or outside in secluded Salas.

An absolute must-do or must-see before leaving Phuket…
Baba Nest – this is the resort’s premium cocktail bar, located on the highest pinnacle of the south-eastern peninsula. It is surrounded by a unique, 360-degree infinity pool which offers uninterrupted views of the neighbouring islands and Andaman Sea. It’s the ultimate swim spot in Phuket and very popular with local and international celebrities!

What she loves about her hotel…
Working with my amazing team and meeting all of our lovely guests who visit us from around the world

Anything else we should know when visiting…
Phuket is an ideal holiday destination as its always hot and sunny weather but my top tip would be to visit Phuket during November – April. This is the best period!
