This week’s Guest Traveller Robin Janke takes us on a journey to the centre of Australia.
We took the Jetstar direct flight Brisbane to Yulara and arrived in the centre of Australia three hours later.
The Tali Wiru dinner is magnificent and a must do. We were collected from our accommodation in an all-terrain vehicle and taken to a remote destination where we were served bush tucker canapés and bubbles with Uluru as the backdrop for the evening. We enjoyed a 4-course dinner with choices, accompanying wines and a bonus astronomy lesson. And then finished with cognac and cheese by the fire pit….a must while at Uluru.
After an early morning start, we took a 30 minute helicopter flight to view Uluru and Kata Tjuta at sunrise. There were many magnificent highlights and plenty of history included.
The Outback Pioneer Lodge is the perfect stop for an afternoon beverage and easy dinner options.
And of course the accomodation of choice is Sails in the Desert.
